Resolved to be… Posted on July 16th, 2010
“I am resolved to be . . .” This is the beginning of the quote in my header by Eliza Lucas Pinckney (1723-1793). I have read over this often and it always challenges me.
Am I resolved to be a better Mother?
Am I resolved to be a better wife?
Am I being intentional in all that I do?
When I think on these things I know that the Lord has given me the desire, but oh, how weak is the flesh. I pray that He will grant me the grace to follow through.
I am resolved to be a better Mother.
I am resolved to be a better wife.
I am resolved to pray for my children.
I am resolved to set them good examples.
I am resolved to give them good advice.
I am resolved to be careful of both their souls and bodies.
I am resolved to watch over their tender minds.
I am resolved to carefully root out the first appearing buildings of vice.
I am resolved to instill piety, virtue and true religion into them.
I am resolved to bless the Lord and not forget any of His benefits.
I am resolved.
